– The sweeper position in the game of soccer is not one
that carries with it a whole lot of prestige. The sweeper represents
the last line of defense in front of the goalkeeper and is rarely,
if ever, involved in the offense flow. It is also the highly
scrutinized position when a defense breaks down and the opposing
team scores. It is a demanding position that requires the ability
to make snap-decisions with little in terms of glory for making
