GIRLS SOCCER:Lakeland earns first county title since 1987

WAYNE VALLEY –
Trailing by a goal late in the first half to host Wayne Valley
in yesterday’s Passaic County final, Lakeland was in a precarious
position. The Lady Lancers needed a spark of any kind to get them
going heading into the second half. But that was easier said than
done for the Lancers, who were up against not only an team playing
Indians’ team who has been playing its best defense of the
season over the past two weeks, but also 40mph winds in their
collective faces. That was until a pair of Lakeland sophomores
