NV/Demarest's Corcoran twins.

NORTH JERSEY – The third episode of our new podcast 'Where Are They Now' featuring NV/Demarest alums the Corcoran twins, Veronica and Victoria, and it was another great show. If you haven't heard it yet you can listen to it here.

As usual, we did forget to ask a few things. So we called them back to ask 5 more questions...

1) You played three sports for four years at NV/Demarest, what were some of your (personal and team) statistics?

Victoria: 12 varsity letters; started in every sport at the varsity level since freshman year. Veronica: 12 varsity letters. VOLLEYBALL - 2-time state champion, 4-time state sectional champion, 3-time league champion, 2-time All-Bergen County selection, 2-time All-State selection and 3-time All-League selection; BASKETBALL - first ever league champion, All-Bergen County selection, All-League selection; SOFTBALL - state champion, state sectional champion, All-County selection, 2-time All-State selection, 4-time All-League selection, The Record Athlete of the Week, NJS.com Athlete of the Week and 100+ hits.

2) Did you have any pregame rituals?

Victoria: For all three sports my senior year I had a lucky pony tail. Also before basketball games, I would always have to do my nails while watching the JV game.

Veronica: I always put silver glitter eyeshadow on before every game, even though I am not usually the girl that wears a lot of makeup. Sometimes I write my word for the season on my wrist so I can look at it and be reminded to lock in. In volleyball and softball, I also had a ribbon tied on my shoe (Coach Powell started this for me) with an inspiring word.

3) If you didn't go to University of New Orleans to play beach volleyball where would you have gone and what would you have played?

Victoria & Veronica: There was no doubt in our minds that we were going to college and playing a sport together. That was our dream and we knew that we could achieve it. Growing up, we played softball seriously and we were looking at more local teams like Stony Brook, St. Johns, and Sienna. When we started playing club volleyball, we don't know the exact schools since the director was in contact with them, but we know that we had some schools in Florida and the Carolinas interested in us both. However, when we started taking beach volleyball seriously we were mostly in contact with Georgia State, FAU, and of course UNO.

4) What is your greatest accomplishment as high school athletes?

Victoria & Veronica: We have been so blessed to have had such a great high school experience as student athletes. As athletes we were very happy to be role models for the younger athletes and to be instrumental in their development. We could not have accomplished anything without our teammates, coaches, athletic trainers, teachers and family and friends that have impacted us along our high school journey. Without all of them, we would not have been successful. Some of our greatest accomplishments include winning the state sectional four years in a row and winning the overall state championship two times in volleyball. Our team won the first ever league title in basketball our junior year of high school which was so amazing to experience. Last, but definitely not least, our team won the state sectional title in softball for the first time in 37 years. That was a special game since it was our last time playing at our home field at NVD and Victoria was on base, and I hit the walk off homerun to score the both of us. Then we had prom the next day and celebrated the whole weekend. To top it off, we won the state championship to end our high school experience on a win. It was truly a story book ending for us.

5) What are your beach volleyball goals after college?

Victoria & Veronica: After college, we plan to chase after our dreams and play professional beach volleyball. We want to play nationally on the AVP tour and on the international FIVB tour either representing the USA or Ireland (we have dual citizenship and they have been developing a beach volleyball program for Ireland). We will need to get sponsorships too! We will graduate school this May 2020 with a bachelors in marketing and a minor in sales. We will pursue our MBA starting this Fall. We will also love to pursue a job in sports whether that be through marketing or communications. Sports have been a part of our lives from the very beginning, and we cannot imagine our lives without it.
