HILLSDALE
-- Pascack Valley is the defending Bergen County girls basketball
champion, but was supposed to be vulnerable this season. The Indians
lost two Division 1 starters to graduation and seven other seniors
from last year's team that won the outright Group 2 state championship.
They
lost lost three games early this season, one to Holy Angels in
the Joe Poli Holiday Tournament they host, one to Pasack Hills,
their first to their rival since 1991, and they lost to Ramapo
for the first time since 1983 (mistakenly reported as 1993 in
the accompanying Audio Report but I don't feel like going back
to change it).
But
after PV's win over Tenafly in the Round of 16 on Saturday, the
Indians now stand at 17-3 on the season and still have all the
titles that they play for within reach.
