Cresskill falls just short in Group 1 state final

Harrison Lucibello and Cresskill's 10-member strong senior class reached the Group 1 final for the first time since 2002.

PISCATAWAY – In search of its first state title in school history, Cresskill had an eight-point lead after three quarters of play in the Group 1 state final on Sunday night.

Woodbury, however, turned up the defensive pressure, turned the game around and turned in a 60-58 victory on the campus of Rutgers University.

Because we don't cover Woobury and because we really don't even really know where Woodbury is, we will leave it at that.

Because we do know where Cresskill is and because we have visited many times, we provide this public service to what today might be a depressed Cougar nation: let your spirits be lifted with a look back at some highlights from what was a history-making season that saw Cresskill reach the Group 1 championship game for the first time since 2002 and the semifinals of the Bergen County Jamboree.
