PALISADES
PARK -- While most of North Jersey high school basketball players
were either on the court playing in the state tournament or enjoying
the offseason, the Palisades Park Tigers had some unfinished regular
season business to take care of against Bogota. The two teams
played their final regular season game on Tuesday night as a makeup,
after the original game date was canceled because of the snowstorm
a few weeks ago.
For Palisades Park, this makeup game meant more than just the
end of its season as, with a win, it would clinch a share of the
BCSL-Olympic Division title with Cresskill. The Tigers got off
to a hot start and hit 14 three-pointers and beat Bogota 80-39.
Senior Ive Pavin led all scorers with 28 points and 6 three-pointers,
and Matt Tejada added 15 with 5 from downtown.
The win marks Palisades Park's second straight BCSL-Olympic crown.
