ORADELL - Ridgefield Park (9-4), the No. 19 seed, dominated No.
14 St. Mary on both sides of the ball. Strong defensive play by
Warren Murphy, Marquids McMillian, and Chris Cuecha helped the
Scarlets to a 17-point lead at the half.
RP did not give up a single point in the second quarter until
there was about one-minute left to play. St. Mary rallied to cut
the lead to 10, but RP proved to be too much, pulling out an impressive
49-31 victory.
Up next for the Scarlets is No. 3 St. Joseph next Sunday in the
Round of 16. Meanwhile, RP will continue to fight for the BCSL-American
title with two regular season games this week.
