Welcome to NorthJerseySports.com's newest section and the beginning of our movement to put together an Army of Interns!!!

NorthJerseySports.com, the premier source for high school sports news and information in the area, is looking for innovative and creative students to join our team by becoming part of our brand new internship program – NJS.com's Army of Interns!!!

The Army of Interns is starting up by offering hands-on internships in all facets of 21st Century Journalism. From writing and photography to Internet content development and video production and everything in between. So if you are interested in a career in journalism or just want to meet Rich Barton give us a call at 201.944.9695 or e-mail gcarbone@northjerseysports.com for more information.

NorthJerseySports.com is now offering accredited internships in the following fields:

  • REPORTER – We won't keep you locked up in the office taking scores over the phone, instead we'll send you out into the field, literally, and have you actually cover games all over North Jersey. Cover, write and get as many as four sports stories a week published on NorthJerseySports.com.
  • PHOTOGRAPHER – One of NorthJerseySports.com's most popular features are the spectacular photos that appear on the site daily. Our photography internship will get you the opportunity to shoot every sport you can imagine and get your pictures published on NorthJerseySports.com. Help produce special photo galleries or add game art with one of our reporters. Plus, learn all the tips of the trade from our staff photogs.

  • VIDEOGRPAHER – You can learn how to shoot and produce games both for publication on NorthJerseySports.com or for production in our Recruiting Videos. Work along side our videographer team and learn everything from how to work the camera to how to produce the raw video. Also, how to finalize the projects for publication on NJS.com and how to author DVDs.

  • EDITOR – If you know your grammar and journalism rules you can be part of the very important behind the scenes editorial staff that keep NJS.com's stories relatively mistake free. Edit stories from staff and freelance reports, create and edit text for NJS.com features and develop copy for pages all over the site.

  • WEB DESIGNER/GRAPHIC ARTIST – Like the way NorthJerseySports.com looks? Well, it wasn't easy getting the look and feel, not to mention functionality, to work together. As a matter of fact, NJS.com has had five different looks and retrofits in our eight year history. Create graphics for the site and update the sports and school pages along designing different sponsorship ads. Learn how to use Dreamweaver, Photoshop, ImageReady and Flash along the way.

  • AUDIO/VIDEO BROADCASTING – You've heard the Audio Repors, the Audio Spotlights and, of course, the Podcasts. Well, now be a part of producing them. Interview coaches and athletes and learn how to produce the segments for publication on the Internet. Also, learn how a Podcast works from the inside out.

You will have the opportunity get real world experience in your field by producing actual content for daily publication on the website right away.

NJS.com's Army of one...so far

Well, it didn't take long for us to get the first official member of our brand new Army of Interns. NJS.com would like to formally welcome Pete Santacroce to the team.

Santacroce is a graduate of Garfield High School. He played baseball and football all four years for the Boilermakers and also played basketball for a year. Santacroce went to Bergen Community College, where he also played baseball, before transferring William Paterson. Santacroce is an English major with a concentration in writing.

For NJS.com , Santacroce will be covering games around North Jersey as a Reporter and a member of NorthJerseySports.com's Army of Interns.

So be sure to check out his stuff and tell him, and us, what you think.
